The SleepyHeadCENTRAL mission is to develop an accessible, accurate, and user-friendly online clearinghouse of sleep information to help educate healthcare consumers on the vital importance of sleep in overall optimal health. Our aim is to give healthcare consumers clear options for taking action and seeking help regarding their sleep problems.
SleepyHeadCENTRAL is produced, curated and maintained by a single person, who is a lifetime journalist, registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) and certified clinical sleep health educator (CCSH), to meet a broad need for reliable, easy-to-understand sources for sleep health information online. The curator is also an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST), the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), the Circadian Sleep Disorders Network (CSDN), Wake Up Narcolepsy, the Northwest Science Writers Association (NWSA) and the Washington State Sleep Society (WSSS).
